The one place in Britain where pump foiling is actually taught. A big shallow marine lake on the Wirral, ringed by a promenade wall and topped by the tide, with jetties and slipways at the watersports centre on the north shore. The local centre sells pumpfoil and dock start lessons and provides the board, foil, helmet and impact vest; sessions are gated by tide and wind, so plan around high water for foil clearance. Paid parking beside the lake, cafés a few minutes away, reachable by train. The lake sits outside the council's foreshore permit scheme and is controlled by the watersports centre instead.
