Good to know

Getting thereWest Sussex, about 45 minutes south of London Gatwick Airport (LGW) via the A23 and A27. A car is preferred for gear; a large paid municipal lot at the Lancing Beach Green sports hub. The dedicated wind sports zone in front of the local sailing club is the primary access.
HazardsThe launch is entirely steep shingle bordered by wooden groynes built into the sand โ€” no room for downwind errors. Use the regulated summer kite school lanes, wear booties for the pebbles, and watch for real longshore current during building SW swells.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when regional SW wind gets reinforced by a thermal off the coastal downs. Summer afternoons are reliable but genuinely busy โ€” early weekday afternoons are best for crowd avoidance.
