A well-known surf town on the Riviera Nayarit, better documented for its point break than for kitesurfing specifically — included as a general regional estimate.

Getting thereAbout 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR) via Highway 200. A car helps for gear, though the village is walkable; paid parking lots a short distance from the main surf beach. The northern end of the sandy crescent bay gives the cleanest launch, away from the crowded river mouth.
HazardsA famous surf town with a real, dumping Pacific shorebreak and congested lineups full of beginner surfers and swimmers. Genuinely challenging for beginner kiters given the narrow launch zone, strong lateral current, and no dedicated public kite rescue service.
Best time of dayLate afternoon, spring through early summer, when regional wind gets reinforced by local thermal building along the Riviera Nayarit. After 3pm gives the coastal sea breeze time to fill in past the outer headlands.
