WaterFlat bay
A postcard turquoise bay near Porto-Vecchio, calm most mornings before the thermal fills in β Aleria's flatter river-mouth flats up the coast make a good backup.

Getting thereSouthern Corsica, about 25 minutes from Figari-Sud Corse Airport (FSC) near Porto-Vecchio. A car is mandatory; paid municipal parking behind the beach bars. Santa Giulia bay's southern end or the open river mouth flats at Aleria are the main launch points.
HazardsSanta Giulia bay gets heavily crowded with swimmers, yachts, and paddleboarders in summer, leaving very little legal space to launch. Less experienced riders should head to Aleria instead β more open space, but with real shorebreak and open-sea current to manage there.
Best time of dayAfternoon, once the daily thermal sea breeze sets in against Corsica's hot inland mountains. Early afternoon has the most stable cross-onshore flow before late-afternoon cloud builds over the peaks.
