Getting thereAbout 25 minutes south of Hurghada International Airport (HRG), within the secure Sahl Hasheesh resort enclave. Private taxis or hotel shuttles provide access; free resort parking. Staging is best from the sandy stretches near the local water sports hubs.
HazardsA sharp fringing reef runs parallel to the coast, a real hazard for fins and feet at low tide. The inside lagoon is protected and beginner-friendly, but stay clear of marked swimmer zones in front of the hotels and watch for excursion boat traffic.
Best time of dayMorning, as the desert wind peaks early with a steady cross-shore or cross-onshore flow from the north. Riding before midday gets the cleanest wind before the land heats up and the breeze lightens.
