Getting thereAbout 45 minutes south of Hurghada International Airport (HRG) via the main coastal road. A car or taxi is needed, and access to Tobias Island requires a short 10-15 minute boat shuttle arranged through kite centers at local beachfront hotels (like Caribbean World Resort or Imperial Shams). The boat drops you directly on the island's sandy spit.
HazardsThe offshore sandspit has beautiful turquoise water but sharp coral patches and shallow sandbanks on the leeward side. Rely entirely on organized boat rescue support from your base kite center โ wind blows side-offshore across the main riding sandbanks and there are no shallow standing areas past the shelf.
Best time of dayMorning to early afternoon, when northerly thermal wind is highly consistent across the open Red Sea channels. An early boat shuttle gets you the cleanest wind and emptiest flat water before midday heat builds.
