Getting thereA highly remote sector of Baja California, requiring a genuine 6-7 hour drive south of the Ensenada border via Federal Highway 1, then a 1-hour unpaved dirt track. A high-clearance 4x4 with extra fuel and water is completely mandatory; free camping parking directly on the cliff edges overlooking the bay.
HazardsA world-class, high-intensity wave spot with a massive Pacific point break swell, freezing water, and sharp rocky reefs flanking the point. True beginners should avoid this entirely — wind blows violently at 25-35kt side-offshore, entry requires navigating rocky shoreline, and there are genuinely zero rescue services.
Best time of dayAfternoon, April-September, when interior desert heat accelerates the prevailing NW winds along the rugged cliffs. Late afternoon brings the most powerful, consistent wind and cleanest wave faces for advanced wave-riding and foiling.
