Getting thereOn the narrow spit separating the Étang de Berre from the Mediterranean, about 15 minutes north of Marseille Marignane Airport (MRS). A car is needed; ample free asphalt parking along the beach promenade. The dedicated wind sports zone in the middle of the spit is the best entry.
HazardsA genuinely narrow, hard-packed launch bordered by stone breakwaters, concrete sea defense blocks, and a road wall downwind. Flawless kite steering matters here to clear the tight entry — watch for sharp shell fragments and rocks in the shallows too.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the NW Mistral or a warm southerly thermal blows cleanly across the lake. Most stable before temperatures drop fast at sunset.
