HazardsImmediate deep-water drop-offs, genuinely freezing alpine temperatures, and narrow riding tracks bordered by steep rock walls downwind. Complex mountain rotors here are real — hiring a local guide or safety pack is genuinely worth considering, not just a formality, given the total lack of shallow standing areas.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-September, when clear days trigger a strong thermal engine funneling cold mountain air down the valley axis. Peaks post-midday, turning slightly gusty as the mountain heat builds in late afternoon.
