Getting thereAbout 15 minutes south of Hurghada International Airport (HRG) via the main coastal road. A car isn't necessary — access to Magawish Island needs a short 10-15 minute boat shuttle arranged through kite centers at beachfront hotels like Swiss Inn or AMC Royal, dropping you directly on the island's sandy spit.
HazardsBeautiful turquoise water on the offshore sandspit, but sharp coral patches and shallow sandbanks sit on the leeward side. Wind blows side-offshore across the main riding sandbanks — real reliance on your base kite center's organized boat rescue support here, not optional.
Best time of dayMorning to early afternoon, when northerly thermals are highly consistent across the open Red Sea channels. Book an early boat shuttle for the cleanest wind and emptiest flat water.
