Getting thereFly into Mombasa (MBA) and drive south 1.5-2 hours, or fly directly into Ukunda Airstrip (Diani), a 15-minute taxi from the spot. A car isn't strictly necessary if staying beachfront; parking available at local operators like Tribe Watersports. Access via public beach tracks at the southern end of Diani Beach.
HazardsShallow water at low tide brings a dragging risk across scattered reef patches and sea urchins further out. Watch for structural beach encroachments and private walls that can block the beach at high tide, plus seasonal sea vegetation near the waterline.
Best time of dayLate morning through afternoon as trade wind builds through the day. Side-onshore from NE or SE, with the SE monsoon delivering the strongest, most consistent 16-20+kt conditions around June-July.
