Getting thereAbout 20km south of Ramon Airport, roughly 20 minutes by car, shuttle, or local bus. A car makes moving gear easy, but taxis are plentiful; free and paid street parking along the southern beach road. Kite Beach near the coral reef reserve and local surf centers is the best access.
HazardsWind here runs side-onshore rather than straight offshore, but the water goes deep close to shore with no shallow standing area — that combination, not the wind angle itself, is why local schools genuinely run rescue-boat services specifically for less confident riders, and why a true beginner shouldn't treat this as a casual, unsupported learning spot despite the site's 'Beginner' label. All riders must stay outside the protected coral reef marine reserve boundaries. Worth knowing too: Eilat sits at a point where Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia are all close by, so it's not a spot to drift carelessly regardless of wind direction.
Best time of dayMorning through midday, as the desert thermal engine drives wind down the valley before it can destabilize or turn gusty later in the afternoon. Early sessions also beat the summer heat and beach traffic.
