Bat Galim and Dado Beach are the go-to spots below Mount Carmel. Like the rest of Israel's Mediterranean coast, spring brings lighter 15โ€“20kt wind while autumn storms build stronger wind and real waves.

Good to know

Getting thereNorthern coast of Haifa, about 1.5 hours north of Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) via Route 2, or the Haifa Bat Galim train station. A car is preferred for gear; free asphalt parking behind the Bat Galim beach promenade. The dedicated wind sports zone near the local surf clubs gives direct entry.
HazardsBordered by concrete promenade walls, with a sharp, shallow reef break shelf close to shore. Avoid this spot during strong winter storms โ€” real shorebreak, big wave sets, and current that can wash a rider into the concrete sea defense blocks.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the NW sea breeze gets thermally accelerated along the northern coastline for a clean cross-shore blow. Late spring and summer afternoons are most reliable, with clean wave faces for advanced wave-riding.
