Good to know

Getting thereNorthern coast of Nosy Be, about 45 minutes from Fascene Airport (NOS) via rural, unpaved roads. A 4x4 or private taxi is required for gear; free parking on dirt clearings behind the beach line. The wide, wild bay gives a completely unobstructed launch space.
HazardsGenuinely remote โ€” zero rescue infrastructure or local kite schools on site. Watch for wide tidal flats exposing shallow muddy sandbanks at low tide, and be prepared for fully open-sea tracking with no safety backup if gear fails.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-October, when the regional Varatraza (trade wind) blows cleanly from the ESE, accelerated by the thermal draw of the main Madagascar landmass โ€” steady side-onshore across the bay.
