Getting thereWesternmost tip of the Dakar peninsula, about 45 minutes from Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS). A car or taxi is needed for the rocky point; limited paid and free street parking outside local surf restaurants. Staging is from tight reef clearings or rocky pathways.
HazardsAn elite wave-riding spot with a real, brutal Atlantic shorebreak, powerful reef-break current, and sharp volcanic rock shelves lining the entire point. True beginners should avoid this entirely — deep water starts instantly, the lineup is crowded with committed local surfers, and there's no organized rescue boat service.
Best time of dayAfternoon, December-June, when prevailing trades get thermally accelerated along the Dakar cliffs. Late afternoon gives the cleanest wind and organized wave faces before evening temperatures drop.
