Good to know

Getting thereFrom Estavayer-le-Lac, drive to Yvonand and turn right in the village toward Camping la Menthue. Park right beside the road near the spot, before the campsite β€” it's free, but don't use the restaurant or campsite's own parking.
HazardsOnly the Camping la Menthue side of the spot has been usable since 2009 β€” the other, eastern spot near the refuge is closed, and respecting this matters since the main spot itself is at risk of closure if not. Use the western section (facing the lake) for setup and launch; the eastern section is reserved for swimmers and clearly buoyed. Get off the beach quickly after launching or landing. If you drift downwind, avoid ending up in front of the harbor β€” body-drag or release and swim clear before that happens.
Best time of dayA clean NE-E (Bise) spot, reinforced by the Jura/Alps channel effect β€” even an 8kt regional forecast can be enough for kiters (windsurfers want closer to 10kt). Bise runs stronger here on clear days than under cloud cover.
