Getting thereAbout 35 minutes north of Doha via the Al Khor Coastal Road. A car is needed; free parking in the large lots inside Simaisma Public Beach Park. The dedicated water sports zone at the far northern end of the beach is the primary, legal launch area.
HazardsAn extensive shallow sand shelf dries out significantly at low tide, creating ankle-deep hazards. Follow strict local rules separating kiters from crowded family swimming enclosures, and watch for traditional fishing lines close to shoreline structures.
Best time of dayAfternoon, once solar heating over the northern plains peaks to draw in a stable NNE sea breeze. Summer afternoons are most reliable — coordinate with high tide for adequate depth.
