Getting thereNorthern coast of Qatar, about 1h15 north of Doha via the Al Shamal Highway (Exit 79). A car is required; free guest parking right outside the Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort — part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection, confirmed directly against Hilton's own site. The ultra-wide sandy beach in front of the resort's beach club and kite station is the primary access.
HazardsThe enclosed, shallow lagoon has a forgiving sandy bottom, but low tide exposes a sharp rocky reef shelf on the northern outer perimeter. Genuinely beginner-friendly, but watch for shifting sandbanks at dead low tide and stay clear of the resort's marked swimming zones.
Best time of dayMorning through afternoon, November-July, when the dominant northerly Shamal blows flawlessly side-onshore. Arrive early for flat water inside the natural sand spit basin before the tide drops.
