Good to know

Getting there90km south of Jeddah, about 1h15 via Highway 5. A car is mandatory for this undeveloped coastal zone; free parking directly on the unpaved sand flats behind the water. The open shoreline near the old industrial plant gives the most direct, spacious entry.
HazardsAn exposed reef coastline with a real open-ocean shorebreak and genuine longshore current. Watch for sharp submerged coral heads and sea urchins close to the beach β€” no local kite stations, lifeguards, or rescue boats here at all.
Best time of dayAfternoon, April-October, when desert heat drives a reliable NW thermal sea breeze. Peaks post-midday for a steady cross-onshore blow until sunset.
