Good to know

Getting thereWithin King Abdullah Economic City, about 1.5 hours north of Jeddah via Route 5. A car is required, and a KAEC gate access pass must be secured in advance before parking in the dedicated public lot behind the beach park. The official kite beach facility is the primary staging lawn.
HazardsA sharp fringing coral reef runs parallel to the coast, protecting an inner lagoon but posing a real impact hazard at low tide. Stay well inside the designated lagoon boundaries and watch for shallow coral heads exposed as water drops.
Best time of dayAfternoon, April-October, when the Red Sea thermal engine drives a steady cross-shore wind from the NW, peaking post-midday.
