Getting thereAbout 1h15 north of Natal International Airport (NAT) via the BR-101. A car or local moto-taxi helps for gear around the village; free parking directly on the sand at Praia do Cardeiro or Praia de Ponta do Santo Cristo. The beach in front of established Kauli Seadi or Dr. Wind centers has the best access.
HazardsA prominent rocky reef ledge runs parallel to the coast at Ponta do Santo Cristo, catching foil masts or fins at low tide. Time entries for high tide to clear the rocks safely, and expect a punchy shorebreak with real downwind current close to the point.
Best time of dayAfternoon, September-March, when steady trades curve smoothly cross-shore with local thermal building. Mid-to-high tide is strongly preferred for wide, forgiving flat water over the reef flats.
