Getting thereSinis Peninsula, western Sardinia, about 1h15 from Cagliari Elmas Airport (CAG) via the SS131. A car is completely mandatory for this remote coast; free and paid dirt parking right behind the historical dunes. The open beach near the ancient archaeological ruins is the primary access.
HazardsA wild open-ocean wave spot with a real, crushing Mediterranean shorebreak and genuine undercurrent during strong Mistral storms. True beginners should avoid this entirely when the wind blows hard — deep water starts instantly with no localized rescue craft.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the NW Mistral lines up cleanly cross-shore against the western cliffs. Early afternoon gives the most powerful, consistent wind and organized wave faces for advanced riders.
