Good to know

Getting thereAbu Dhabi, about 25 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) or 1h15 from Dubai. A car is essential; the public Saadiyat Beach lot charges a day-use entry fee. The designated public beach path past the dune boardwalks is the mandatory launch sector.
HazardsA strictly protected nesting ground for endangered Hawksbill sea turtles โ€” driving on dunes or entering restricted beach sectors is a real legal issue, not just discouraged. The beach faces the open Gulf and develops a punchy shorebreak and real undertow in high NW wind, with no on-site kite rescue.
Best time of dayAfternoon, winter through early spring, when thermal sea breezes reinforce the building NW Shamal wind. Riding after 1pm gives the cleanest cross-onshore tracking over the deep blue water.
