North Sardinia's kite hub between Palau and Santa Teresa, with the Maddalena archipelago as a backdrop and a Mistral sharpened by the Strait of Bonifacio next door.

Getting thereNorthern Sardinia, about 1 hour from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB) via the SS125. A car is recommended; large paid public lots sit directly on the sandy isthmus. A central walkway splits the beach: western bay for windsurfing, eastern bay is the dedicated kiteboarding zone.
HazardsThe bay drops off quickly into deep water, and the prevailing Tramontane or Poniente blows strongly side-offshore or offshore over the kite beach. A safety rescue pass from the local beach centers is genuinely worth having โ drifting downwind can sweep you into the busy Bonifacio Strait shipping channel.
Best time of dayMidday to afternoon, when regional wind gets amplified by thermal funneling between Sardinia and Corsica. Arrive early to secure parking and set up before the narrow kite beach gets crowded.
