Getting thereAbout 90km northwest of Fortaleza Airport (FOR), a 1.5-hour drive via the CE-085. A car is preferred for gear; free parking in the dirt and sand behind the main spot at Praia do Quebra-Mar. The beach next to the local surf and kite station gives immediate access.
HazardsA prominent rocky reef shelf gets completely exposed or dangerously shallow at low tide — a real risk of sliced feet, destroyed fins, or a caught foil mast. Time entries precisely for mid-to-high tide, when the water smoothly covers the reef and creates flat lagoon pools.
Best time of dayMid-to-high tide — low tide dries out the inner pools and pushes riders into the open ocean waves. Afternoon is standard peak, with equatorial trades plus thermal heating for flawless cross-onshore conditions.
