Good to know

Getting thereA peninsula in Friuli Venezia Giulia, about 50 minutes from Trieste Airport (TRS) via the A4 (Latisana exit). A car is required; extensive paid parking along the Sabbiadoro or Pineta lungomare. Staging is strictly limited to the far eastern tip at Punta Faro, or authorized club channels.
HazardsThe Punta Faro launch is narrow and bordered by active yacht marina channels, concrete breakwaters, and heavy summer swimmer traffic. Competent upwind steering matters here to navigate the sandbar currents and stay clear of deep commercial boat lanes.
Best time of dayMorning to early afternoon, when regional NE Bora or S Scirocco frontal systems blow cleanly across the open gulf. Summer afternoons are predictable too, with frontal wind fields getting a slight thermal boost from the warm inland.
