The larger of the two Montiggl lakes above Eppan in South Tyrol, 18 hectares and up to 11.5 m deep, warm in summer. Plastic and wooden jetties off the lido, including one extra-wide wooden Steg with a diving tower, plus a sandy beach. Shower, changing rooms, a kiosk-restaurant and heated pools on site. Paid entry and paid parking, open from the end of May to early September only, and a summer shuttle bus because parking is tight. The lake is described as a sensitive ecosystem and the lido is a bathing operation first — go early or late.
