Good to know

Getting thereAbout 110km northwest of Fortaleza Airport (FOR), roughly 1h45 by car via the CE-085. A high-clearance car or 4x4 helps for the drive down from the town cliff; free parking directly on the hard sand flats near the beachfront restaurants. The wide shoreline below the main viewpoint gives direct entry.
HazardsAn open ocean setting with real shorebreak at high tide and strong undercurrent. Genuinely forgiving given the wide sandy expanses, but watch for changing tides altering wave steepness, and wind shadows close to the prominent red cliffs.
Best time of dayAfternoon, July-January, when the regional trade wind gets heavily accelerated by thermal drawing off the dry interior. Post-midday gives the most steady, well-filled-in wind.
