Good to know

Getting thereAbout 45 minutes north of Tunis-Carthage Airport (TUN) via the A4. A car is essential for the lagoon; free dirt parking along the narrow sand spit separating the old harbor from the open sea. The wide sandy banks inside the shallow lagoon mouth give the best rigging zones.
HazardsA genuinely extreme tidal flat range โ€” low tide turns the riding zone into vast, shallow mudflats that can catch long fins or hydrofoil masts. Check tide charts closely to avoid getting stranded, and stay clear of active fishing boat channels near the harbor walls.
Best time of dayAfternoon, for a stable thermal on warm summer days, or all day during a classic NE wind. Post-midday gives steady onshore/side-onshore conditions past the light, unpredictable morning breeze.
