Good to know

Getting thereAbout 2.5 hours north of Natal International Airport (NAT) via the BR-406, ending at the Pratagil boat dock for a 10-minute public boat or 4x4 beach transit across the dunes. No cars in the village itself — staging is directly from the sandy flats lining the inside saltwater river arm.
HazardsThe inside river arm has genuinely flat water but drops into deep navigation channels with real tidal current. Solid upwind steering matters to avoid getting dragged into the dense mangroves downwind — this is a remote location with no structured rescue boats.
Best time of dayAfternoon, August-January, when dominant trades blow flawlessly side-shore along the peninsula. The thermal engine peaks post-midday for the cleanest, most reliable wind over the flat lagoon.
