Getting thereUmm Al Quwain, about 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport (DXB) via the E11. A car is needed; parking in the public sandy lots directly outside the Flamingo Beach Resort boundaries. The open beachfront next to the resort mangroves is the main legal access.
HazardsDelicate mangrove systems flank the spot, with hidden sandbanks that shift dramatically with the tide. Sharp shell fragments are common in the shallows — booties are worth having — and avoid drifting downwind into active local fishing boat channels.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the regional thermal accelerates the NW sea breeze against the hot desert interior. Midday to late afternoon gives the most stable, cross-onshore tracking and adequate depth over the shallow flats.
