Getting thereTuscany, about 1.5 hours south of Pisa International Airport (PSA) via the SS1. A car is essential; paid lots under the pine trees along the SP158. Main kiteboarding access is the Fiumara beach stretch, slightly north of the town center.
HazardsWide fields of summer swimmers and a narrow sandy beach bounded by dense pine forest can cause real wind shadows right at the water's edge. Use the designated summer kite launch lanes and be ready to ride upwind immediately to stay clear of shore.
