Getting thereVeneto region, about 45 minutes east of Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) via the A4. A car is preferred for gear; extensive paid parking behind the main beach resort lines at Porto Santa Margherita or Falconera. The sandy stretches near the lagoon inlets give the primary access.
HazardsHighly variable water depth with hidden sandbanks, wooden groynes, and sharp shell beds exposed close to shore. Stay strictly inside the designated sports zones in summer, and expect real lateral current when the inner lagoon channels are actively draining.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-September, for a stable summer thermal, or all day during a classic NE Bora. Post-midday gives steady onshore/side-onshore conditions past the light, unpredictable morning breeze.
