Getting thereNorth of Livorno / south of Tirrenia (Pisa area). Easy highway access (FI-PI-LI). Main launch is near the Scolmatore canal mouth. Car access to the beach often requires club membership or a daily fee; otherwise park nearby and walk ~700 m.
HazardsMostly onshore winds can push riders into the beach (especially less experienced). Variable chop and waves with western winds; rocks/scogli on the left side. Crowds of windsurfers and kiters. Restricted or club-only access in places.
Best time of dayApril–November. Best with western quadrants (Libeccio, Ponente). Summer lighter; stronger frontal winds off-season.
