Getting thereAbout 40km north of Beirut International Airport, roughly 50-60 minutes via the main seaside highway. A car is recommended for gear; parking in nearby open sand lots or street spaces, typically a small local fee. The public beach near the ancient port is the most direct, spacious sandy entry.
HazardsSandy bottom in the main riding zone, but rocky reefs flank the bay's edges and become a real hazard if you drift downwind. The open beach is exposed to shorebreak and strong rip currents during high swell, with no dedicated local rescue service.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the Mediterranean sea breeze reliably builds thermal pressure against the coastal mountains for stable side-onshore wind. Midday/early afternoon also avoids weekend crowds and swimmers near shore.
