Getting thereAbout 55km north of Beirut International Airport, roughly 45 minutes via the main seaside highway. A car is highly recommended for gear; public parking in nearby open gravel lots or street-side spaces near local wind sports centers. The small pebble beach is the most direct entry.
HazardsJagged limestone rock shelves and a hard pebble beach transition quickly into sudden drop-offs. Watch for wind turning strongly cross-offshore near the ancient salt pans — flat water, but a real drifting hazard into deep water with no dedicated rescue boat.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the Mediterranean sea breeze reliably builds thermal pressure against the coastal mountains for stable side-onshore wind. Midday or early afternoon also avoids local foot traffic close to shore.
