Getting thereAbout 1 hour west of Algiers via the A1 West Highway and the Tipaza bypass. A car is mandatory for this rugged coast; free and paid dirt parking behind the dunes at Chenoua Beach. The wide sandy strip near the foot of Mount Chenoua is the primary access.
HazardsBordered by massive vertical cliffs generating real wind shadows and sudden shifts close to shore. Avoid this entirely during strong northerly events — genuine shorebreak, open-ocean rip current, and sharp rocky reefs flank the downwind boundaries.
