Getting thereFly into Nadi (NAN) and drive south along Queens Road roughly 1-1.5 hours to Sigatoka on the Coral Coast. A car is needed; best entry and launch is just east of the Outrigger Resort, with free parking at public beach turnoffs or roadside clearings near the grassy rigging areas.
HazardsThe launch is coarse sand and shell beach โ take care not to damage your kite on land. The main hazard is the shallow, sharp coral reef and heavy shorebreak along the outer edge. Stay in the inner lagoon zone if less experienced โ the outer reef passes have powerful tidal currents, breaking waves, and sudden squalls that reduce visibility fast.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when regional trade winds accelerate over the south-facing coastline. High tide is required to clear the shallow, sharp reef flats and hidden coral heads inside the lagoon.
