Getting thereOnly reachable by a 20-30 minute private boat or water taxi from the Mamanuca launch docks at Denarau Marina or Nadi. No cars exist on the tiny island coral key; staging is managed exclusively through resort-regulated water sports shacks directly from the sandbanks.
HazardsA sharp, shallow barrier coral reef surrounds the island, genuinely dangerous for fins and feet at low tide. True beginners should avoid launching here entirely โ wind blows side-offshore, deep water starts instantly past the reef ledge, and a gear malfunction washes you into a life-threatening surf lineup.
Best time of dayMid-morning through late afternoon, May-October, when strong trades blow continuously at peak strength. Time sessions with a rising mid-to-high tide to clear the underlying rocks safely and enjoy clean wave faces over the reef.
