Good to know

Getting there25km south of Essaouira, about 20 minutes from Essaouira-Mogador Airport (ESU) along the coastal highway. A car is required; a large free dirt lot adjacent to the main beach restaurants and surf shacks. The wide beachfront near the river mouth is the primary launch.
HazardsA world-class wave spot with a real, heavy Atlantic shorebreak, genuine point-break current, and strong cross-shore wind frequently exceeding 30kt. True beginners should avoid this open beach entirely β€” deep water starts instantly and a kite malfunction means a long drift with no rescue boat backup.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-September, when Moroccan interior heat accelerates the NW AlizΓ© trades to their daily peak. Builds post-midday, turning morning swell into clean, organized wave faces.
