Further down the Columbia River Gorge from Hood River, closer to Portland — the same gorge-funneled westerly wind, with less driving to reach it. Limited spot-specific documentation beyond that shared gorge reputation.

Good to know

Getting thereI-84 Exit 25 (Corbett), about 22 miles east of Portland. Oregon State Park day-use fee applies ($3–5 range historically). Large parking lots; summer weekends fill by mid-morning. Long carry down stairs from the main lot to the beach.
HazardsStrong Columbia River current, especially in spring. Low-water mudflats and a submerged sandbar near the large tripod that drops off sharply. Intermediate/advanced in strong east winds; summer west winds are lighter but still require care with the current.
Best time of dayFall–spring for the strong east winds that make it the windiest Gorge spot in those seasons; summer afternoons for lighter thermal west winds.
