Getting thereSouthwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) in North Bend, then south on Highway 101 about 1 hour to Langlois. A car is essential for this isolated coastal lake; parking at Boice-Cope County Park (small daily fee). A short walk over the wooden bridge reaches the northern sandy shore.
HazardsHeavily used by windsurfers and wingfoilers β standard right-of-way rules matter to avoid mid-water collisions. Freshwater and wave-free, but the launch is bordered by dunes and coastal trees causing localized wind shadows. Water stays cold enough that a full wetsuit is needed despite the flat conditions.
Best time of day1-6pm, May-September, when the NW Pacific thermal channels over the coastal dunes β a reliable wind machine peaking as the afternoon sun heats the inland valleys.
