One of Munich's cleanest lakes, 700 m by 150 m and up to 18 m deep, with three metal piers on the north-east shore and a broad pebble beach to walk out on. Bathing is permitted and there is no ban on boards. Free parking by the lake but very few spaces — the U2 to Messestadt is the easier way in. Free toilets and a kiosk on site. Munich's park bylaws restrict going on the water during the bathing season at the city lakes, so check before a midsummer session.
