Good to know

Getting thereAbout 1 hour south of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) via the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway. A car is needed for gear; public street parking or paid lots along Pantai Cahaya Negeri or Teluk Kemang. The sandbank zones near Pantai Saujana offer the easiest launch tracks.
HazardsHeavily packed with weekend swimmers, jet skis, and speedboats โ€” stick to informal safety zones. Watch for concrete resort retaining walls downwind, and be aware sudden tropical squalls (Sumatras) can bring genuinely dangerous, abrupt wind shifts.
Best time of dayLate afternoon, June-September, when the Southwest Monsoon builds a steady sea breeze. Waiting until after 2pm gives the coastal breeze time to fill in cleanly across the strait.
