Getting thereKuantan, about 30 minutes from Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Airport (KUA) or 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur. A car is preferred for gear; free public parking in the dirt and sand clearings at Balok Beach Park. The wide sandy stretch near the local windsurfing and sailing clubs is the best entry.
HazardsDuring the Northeast Monsoon, expect a real shorebreak and strong lateral current that can drain energy fast. Watch for floating maritime debris and local fishing lines — no dedicated public jet-ski or rescue boat infrastructure here.
