Good to know

Getting thereEast coast of Gran Canaria, about 15 minutes south of Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) via the GC-1. A car is required for the unpaved gravel tracks to the coast; free dirt parking behind the pebble beach. The launch area in front of the local campsite pavilion is the primary access.
HazardsMassive, slippery round pebbles and large stones need careful footwork and booties during launches. A high-intensity wave spot with a real shorebreak and strong lateral current — genuinely dangerous for true beginners who can't consistently hold upwind away from the sharp rocky reefs downwind.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-September, when the Meltemi-style northerly trades get accelerated by thermal compression against the volcanic mountains. Post-midday gives fully filled-in, stable wind.
