Good to know

Getting there25km north of Dakhla Airport (VIL), about 25 minutes via the main peninsula highway. A car or airport hotel shuttle is needed; free parking on the packed sand tracks in front of the major kite camps. The beach in front of Dakhla Attitude or Dakhla Club is the primary launch.
HazardsA genuine 2-3 meter tidal range exposes sharp rock shelves and mudflats at dead low tide. The wind runs strictly offshore at the main camp points β€” a pre-arranged rescue boat with a local kite center is essential here, not optional.
Best time of dayMorning through late afternoon, as Atlantic trades blow relentlessly all day, reinforced by the Sahara's thermal engine. Early morning gives the glassiest flat water on the leeward side of the main speed-spot sand spit.
