Getting thereAbout 1.5 hours from Dalaman Airport (DLM), near Gelemiş village. A car is necessary for the rural tracks to the Özlen beach access; free dirt parking near the river mouth. The open sandy stretch by the river outlet is the primary launch.
HazardsA powerful river current entering the sea creates unpredictable swirling water and shifting sandbars. This is a wild, open beach with zero infrastructure or rescue support — a malfunction in the strong cross-onshore wind can mean a long drift or gear damage on an exposed coast.
Best time of dayAfternoon, once summer heat over the Patara dunes triggers a strong WNW thermal — builds real chop and rolling waves, better suited to confident intermediate riders than true beginners.
