Getting thereAïn El Turk district, about 30 minutes northwest of Oran Ahmed Ben Bella International Airport (ORN) via the N2 coastal road. A car or taxi is necessary; free street parking along unpaved slots behind the beach bars. The wide sandy crescent bay is the primary launch zone.
HazardsFaces the open sea with a real shorebreak at high tide and genuine undercurrent. Stick to the open sandy stretches away from concrete hotel seawalls, and watch for jet ski traffic in peak summer.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when western Algerian interior heat triggers a clean NW thermal. Increases post-midday for a consistent cross-onshore breeze until sunset.
