Getting thereSouthern tip of Lanzarote near Playa Blanca, about 35 minutes from Arrecife Airport (ACE) via the LZ-2. A car is required for the coastal roads; free street parking at Playa de Las Coloradas or near the local marina harbor. The gravel and sand inlets are the primary staging grounds.
HazardsJagged volcanic reef rocks and no shallow standing areas at all — deep water starts instantly. Watch for genuinely strong, cross-offshore wind angles past the headlands, with no organized public rescue boat service on this stretch of coast.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when regional NE trades get thermally accelerated by the southern desert plains' heat. Steady tracking, far superior to the calm mornings.
